Jerome W. Shell Funeral Home
The Jerome W. Shell Funeral Home is family owned and operated since 1965.
Jerome W. Shell, Sr. was employed by the Harold S. Gleason Funeral Home from approximately 1945 to 1965. He then went into partnership with Russell Ray as the Ray and Shell Funeral Home from 1965 to 1968. Mr. Ray retired in 1968, thus beginning the Jerome W. Shell Funeral Home. Mr. Shell was joined by his son, Jerome W. Shell, Jr., the present owner, in 1973.
The Funeral Home consists of two buildings. The former Rider home built around 1915 and the recently acquired Charles and Elizabeth Hill residence, now referred to as Hill House. Hill House, which is separated from the funeral home by a driveway, is now used as a post funeral catered banquet facility. We can serve up to approximately 50 guests.
Our catered meals at Hill House reduce much of the work and tension some families may feel concerning feeding family and friends following the funeral service. Once again, a home-like atmosphere provides privacy (unlike some restaurants) and there is no feeling of having to rush - as at a restaurant where other customers may be waiting to be seated.
Our goal is to provide families with dignified services at reasonable prices.
We will not attempt to sell you anything you don't want or don't need.
We will explain any and all services you request in full, including prices.
When you pre-arrange with us, any monies given to us will be placed in state approved financing plans. The funds will be in your name, not ours. Should you choose another funeral home at time of need your funds will be paid to that firm, not ours.
We accept Master Card and Visa.
We make every effort to provide a clean, friendly home like setting for your family and friends.
