Julia (Sedlock) Swaney

Julia (Sedlock) Swaney, 89, of Uniontown, PA, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 7, 2025. She was born July 5, 1936 in Smithfield, PA.

Preceding her in death were her parents, John Paul Sedlock and Mary (Kulvoski) Sedlock, husband Mervin E. Swaney, and two brothers, Walter Sedlock, and Charles Sedlock.

Judy was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, and for many years owned and operated Swaney Hair Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and companion, who enjoyed spending time dancing with her companion and friends at the Amvets Club.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving friend and companion, Vincent Schwenk, of New Eagle, PA, daughters, Susan Dunn (Charles), of Uniontown, Beth Gabriel (Greg), of Charlotte, NC, and Elaine Kessler, of Hopwood, PA, eight grandchildren: Geoffrey Kessler (Amber), Gregory Kessler, Charlie Dunn (Jessica), Chelsea Valino (Sam), Chad Dunn (Christina), Christine Anderson, David Gabriel (Kayla), and Rachel Hilton (Tyler), nine great-grandchildren: Callen, Chloe, Kalie, Kinsley, Hannah, Natalie, Owen, Adele, and Evan and three sisters, Dorothy Jaster, of Mesa, AZ, Barb Fabian, of Smithfield, PA, and Audry Bacha (John), of Scottsdale, AZ.

Friends will be received in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc., 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA on Thursday, September 11th, from 3 to 7 PM, and on Friday, September 12th, in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 71 N. Gallatin Ave. until 11 AM, the time of service, with Pastor Kevin Anderson officiating. Private Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monongahela, PA.
