Maryann Elizabeth Shell

Maryann Elizabeth Shell, 74, of Uniontown, PA, passed away Tuesday March 17, 2026. She was born March 19, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Joseph Francis Schannen and Theresa (Hanzl) Schannen, and a brother, Stanley Schannen.

Maryann attended the Pennsylvania State University where she met her future husband, Jerome. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and retired as the site manager of Wynnwood Commons in Fairchance, PA. She was the most loving and caring wife and mother. She was the heartbeat of our family.

Left to keep her memory alive as they complete their own life journeys are her husband of 53 years, Jerome W. Shell, Jr., four children: Laura Allison Sawyer-Villers (Dylan), of Oakmont, PA, and Jennifer Rose, Jerome Wesley, III, and Matthew Timothy Shell, all of Uniontown, two brothers, Joseph Schannen (Sally), of Ocean, NJ, and Raymond Schannen (Ashe), of Lakewood Ranch, FL, and many nieces and nephews.

To honor the wishes of Maryann and her husband Jerome, a Blessing Service was held Saturday March 21, 2026 in the Shell Funeral Home, Inc. followed by interment in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Uniontown, PA.

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Maryann may be made to Keeping the Faith Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 1161 Uniontown, PA 15401.
